World-wide distribution agreement for new Scarlet CGI!

Good news! GAP has achieved an agreement with Tri-Media Group for worldwide rights to "multimedia deployment" rights to the new Captain Scarlet CGI TV show. The rights are worldwide except for UK, which is covered by Carlton. GAP and Sony already seem to have the distribution rights locked up, so this presumably means Tri-Media have the rights to games, ringtones, desktop images, DVDs etc. See the main content for full press release...

Several readers have sent in emails telling us that the Thunderbirds movie recently opened in Australia and New Zealand. Initial reviews from Australia seem to be consistent with other comments, namely they either ignore it or draw the obvious parallel to the Spy Kids franchise. Next stop: DVD!

Full Boost Vertical - DVD looks promising

Just received a review copy of the new Supercar documentary DVD "FULL BOOST VERTICAL". Full review to come shortly, but I think it is worth mentioning that this 2 disc set is packed pull of rarities and extras the likes of which I have never seen before. The sheer number of photos, both production and behind the scenes takes up 20 minutes of viewing! The producers appear to have gathered every known item that can be placed on a DVD and even created some new ones! Preliminary viewings suggest that this is a keeper. The NTSC region free DVD can be purchased at FAB GEAR USA. If there is sufficient interest, other shows may receive similar treatment. Stay tuned for a full review...

Thunderbirds movie - so good its straight to video

Amazingly, the new Thunderbirds movie has fared so poorly in its initial countries, that Universal has pulled the plug on further theatrical releases. This means that if the movie has not yet opened in your country, it may never open in cinemas. Instead, Universal will adopt a "straight to video" strategy in an effort to cut costs and recoup some of the film's expense. Countries likely to be affected include Australia, Asia and South America. I guess the first step to recovery is admitting there is a problem. Now, where did I put Peter Jackson's phone number...?

October 2004 sees the release of Team America - World Police from the makers of the TV show "South Park". I mention this because the movie is made with Thunderbirds-style puppets. The makers of this movie did it in part as a reaction to the as-then pending Thunderbirds movie.
