Century 21 FX Reader Review

I just got a copy of the Century 21 FX book a few days ago so I'll be preparing a full review shortly. Initial reaction is that this is a very impressive book.

The UK company that made so many decent and affordable models from the Gerry Anderson universe has now re-branded itself as Iconic Replicas Limited. What does that mean to you and me? Well, in a nutshell, most if not all of the "lower end" models have been discontinued and they are now focusing on larger, more detailed models with limited runs.

To celebrate the publication of the "Century 21 FX" book by Alan Shubrook, we put together a contest which took place up to the end of October 2007. We got numerous entries, many correct, but at the end of the day, a winner has to be selected.

The winner was Brian of Illinois, USA. The three runner-up prizes went to three lucky chaps in the UK: Paul, Dave and Jim. They should all be receiving their prizes shortly.

First part of Anderson documentary airs this weekend

For those lucky enough to live in the UK and get the channel UK Sky Film 24 (158), you have a treat this weekend. The first part of a new 2-part documentary on Gerry Anderson airs will be airing on that channel.

Part one on the Supermarionation shows features: Gerry Anderson, David Elliott, Julien Lugrin, Desmond Saunders, Alan Perry, Roger Woodburn, Mary Turner, David Graham, Robert Eastonm John Blundall and Arthur Provis.

Shubrook book ready

Apparently, the book is finally ready and is almost ready for distribution. The initial publication will be hardback, with a softcover to follow after.

All books will be sent out on or before 1st October. There's still time to get your signed copy from www.thunderbirdsbook.com The book is a limited 2500 print run, with no reprint planned.

Sylvia Anderson's new book published

Although new Anderson productions are unlikely any time soon - if not ever, but new publications are appearing. This month, its a new biography from none other than Sylvia Anderson. Published at the end of July 2007, the title is "My FAB Years". The book is available in the UK and the US, so hopefully it is available in many other countries around the world too.

Captain Scarlet website, once dead, now alive - Is this the work of the Mysterons?

NCS logo The website for New Captain Scarlet has come back online after several months of inactivity. This is probably due to broadcast repeats in the UK as well as broadcast again on Animania HD in the US. The site is all Flash so you must have the plugin to see it. Its all about the new series. No apparent mention of the original series.

Thunderbirds for PS2

Thunderbirds for PS2 Hot on the heels of the Captain Scarlet game for the Sony Playstation 2, we now have a Thunderbirds game for the PS2.

Again, this seems to be a budget title for £10 and is UK-specific Region 2 encoded, so if you live outside the UK (like me) then don't even think of buying this.

For those in the UK, all I have to say is: you lucky lucky bastards.

Unless of course the game is crap. Only time will tell, the game gets released on June 7 2007.
