I'm finally back from the UK and sorting though my photos from the trip, which of course include photos from the Sector 25 Fanderson event earlier this month. I'm going to post a full detailed review later, but for now I'll provide some highlights and a photo of the man himself.

Sector 25 - update
The weekend finally drew to a close and the big Fanderson convention, SECTOR 25 ended. I was able to go and I had a great time. It was great to meet up again with friends and meet the guests. I took about 200 photos at the show and have quite a few notes. I will write up and publish a proper review on this site shortly.In addition, we will have some new articles, interviews and perhaps even a contest or two to come, so stay tuned...

Derek Meddings sketches up for auction
The archive collection of the late Derek Meddings will go up for auction at Bonhams in London on November 22nd 2006. This auction includes sketches and drawings from his career which included Thunderbirds and UFO. This is the first time in many years that Anderson-related content has been available.

SFF Magazine volume 3 due Sept 19 2006
Sci-Fi and Fantasy Modeller volume 3 is due out on Sept 19 2006. This edition contains several Anderson-related articles including an interview with Mike Trim and a review of his new book, which is also due out very soon. You can read about how to scratch build your own FAB1, and read about the latest from Product Enterprise, the Gay Ellis figure.
Of course, there is plenty of non-Anderson content including 2001, Battlestar Galactica, ALIENS and Dr Who. You can get more details on their website here. You can also purchase it online for delivery to your home.

Thunderbirds is back on BBC2!
If you live in the UK and prefer to watch Thunderbirds off the air as opposed to on DVD, I have good news. Every weekday at noon, BBC2 is broadcasting the show. First episode aired on Thursday July 27th with the pilot episode, "Trapped in the Sky".
Apparently, it is being broadcast in s-t-e-r-e-o which may mean that rather naff version with the cheesy surround sound effects. If you missed the first episode, fear not tomorrow is another day and of course, another episode.

New Captain Scarlet series 2 DVD in September
FINALLY. The "second series" of New Captain Scarlet will be released in the UK on September 18th. This will consist of the final(?) 13 episodes of the show. The first 13 episodes were released some time back and it certainly has been a long time coming. The new set sells for £30 but for those wise enough to hold off on buying the first series will really reap the benefit as they can get both series for only £35. Way to stick it to the fans. Either way you look at it, its a great show and well worth picking up. You can pre-order the series 2 DVD from Amazon UK for only £22.49.

New Sylvia Anderson book due in October 2006
A "new" book by Sylvia Anderson is due to be published in October 2006. This is apparently an "all new" book, but may contain material from her earlier book, "Yes M'Lady". However, as it has been at least 5 years (I know someone will correct me) since the publication of the earlier book, its entirely possible that this really is all new content.
The book will be published both in paperback and in hardback. For die-hard fans, a limited edition SIGNED version of the hardcover will be available from FAB Gear USA when it is published. 208 pages and at least 200 photographs should make for a very interesting book. I can't wait.

Future was FAB: Book announcement
July 2006 will see the publication of "The Future was FAB: The Art of Mike Trim". This looks to be a very interesting read, from the man who designed many of the excellent vehicles in the Century 21 shows. The following is most of the text of the press release, which makes interesting reading on its own. This can sit next to your copy of the Derek Meddings book. Full details after the jump.

SFM Magazine issue 2
Well, it seems that the Sci-Fi & Fantasy Modeller volume 1 did OK, so here comes volume 2. This issue contains 100 pages of modelling articles including scratch building an Angel Interceptor from Captain Scarlet and a scratchbuild Zero X replica. Other article topics include Blake's 7, Star Wars and the new Doctor Who (finally on in the US!).
