TV21 Site Update list active again

ImageThis is basically a good news/bad news posting. The good news is that I have finally been able to get the TV Century 21 site updates newsletter active again. The bad news is that despite many hours of effort, I have been unable to ressurect the original subscriber list. Consequently, we have to start again from scratch. So, if you were subscribed to the TV 21 updates email list, you will need to subscribe again, sorry about that. If you were not subscribed, the TV Century 21 site updates email list is a service I provide to send out emails whenever a new post has been added. If there is interest, I may break it down a bit more, so that we have lists related to interests such as general news, downloads, gallery etc.

If you want to subscribe, simply add your email to the "TV21 Site Update" form to the left, make sure "SUBSCRIBE" is selected and click the PROCEED button. You will receive a confirmation email, which contains a link to click on to verify that you really want to subscribe. IMPORTANT Until you click on this link to verify your request to subscribe, you will not be subscribed!

The emails will probably go out 2-3 times a month at most and each will include details on how to unsubscribe. Just my way of making it slightly easier to use the site.

Report on the Annual Toy Fair in London January 2005

This was an occasion I had been looking forward to for quite some time. After so little on the Anderson front in recent years, this year had scope to be much better with both the much-heralded new Captain Scarlet CGI series, and the 40th Anniversary of Thunderbirds.

So it proved to be.

Images have now been added. Some documents have been added to downloads and images added to gallery.

Good news! GAP has achieved an agreement with Tri-Media Group for worldwide rights to "multimedia deployment" rights to the new Captain Scarlet CGI TV show. The rights are worldwide except for UK, which is covered by Carlton. GAP and Sony already seem to have the distribution rights locked up, so this presumably means Tri-Media have the rights to games, ringtones, desktop images, DVDs etc. See the main content for full press release...

Thunderbirds movie - so good its straight to video

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive
Amazingly, the new Thunderbirds movie has fared so poorly in its initial countries, that Universal has pulled the plug on further theatrical releases. This means that if the movie has not yet opened in your country, it may never open in cinemas. Instead, Universal will adopt a "straight to video" strategy in an effort to cut costs and recoup some of the film's expense. Countries likely to be affected include Australia, Asia and South America. I guess the first step to recovery is admitting there is a problem. Now, where did I put Peter Jackson's phone number...?

The other side of the Thunderbirds movie universe

October 2004 sees the release of Team America - World Police from the makers of the TV show "South Park". I mention this because the movie is made with Thunderbirds-style puppets. The makers of this movie did it in part as a reaction to the as-then pending Thunderbirds movie.
