Century 21 Convention - an attendee's report

In October 2000, Fanderson held their largest convention for Gerry Anderson fans. It was also my first ever Gerry Anderson convention. What an experience it was. To commemorate the event, I wrote a detailed report on the convention and present it here for the readers of TV Century 21. For those who were there, it is an opportunity to relive the weekend. For those who were not, you can live vicariously through me.

I have been a fan of Gerry Anderson shows for as long as I remember. Prior to this event I had never been to a Gerry Anderson fan event of any kind with the exception of the opening of Forbidden Planet 2 in London in 1981 where I got my tv21 1967 annual signed by the man himself.

First thing I did once I got off the plane was to run into town to check out all the new Thunderbirds toys. Geez how sad is that?

The convention took up two floors of the modest hotel. Almost every large room eventually housed people or artifacts from the Gerry Anderson worlds.

One of the highlights of the convention was undoubtedly the superb exhibition hall which contained the largest assemblage of Anderson puppets, models, props and artwork ever displayed for the public.
