At 12:30 was what was announced as "bits and bobs", but Chris Bentley had hinted strongly that there would be something unseen there.

There was a brief montage of scenes from various shows including colour footage of XL5 and then the screen went black. There was some eerie music and then a dark image appeared, eventually I made it out to be a graveyard and a hand moving. at this point I thought this was some sort of short clip to introduce the convention. Then a computer generated captain black appeared on the screen and we all knew what we were looking at. This was the new Captain Scarlet CGI pilot!

The next thing I know, we are looking at cloudbase and then Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue inside cloudbase, which was streamlined and clean looking. The animation was excellent. the voices were original, except for black. The pilot was only about 5 minutes, and involves Captain Black "reforming" albeit briefly. Fairly shortly after, he mysteronizes Captain Blue and a dramatic car chase ensues. Of course, Captain Scarlet saves the day and Captain Blue.

The dynamism of the show and the flexibility that you get with computer animation means that the characters can actually fight! This also allows for vehicle shots to be far more dynamic. All this adds up to a great bit of entertainment which certainly made for one of the most talked about parts of the convention.
