UK – Day 3: Hello Auntie
So I awoke today at 5:30am. That’s 10:30pm Arizona time.
I decided to go for a walk once it was light and ended up at the church I show below in the photos. They have a lych gate which is a covered entrance to the church. Lots of old gravestones near the church and a little park out the back. The sky was a bit cloudy, but it was getting better.
The damp air and the cool breeze ia such a nice change from the dryness of Arizona. It’s oddly unfamiliar as I have never been here before, but also familiar. Much to my chagrin, breakfast did NOT include black pudding. Tsk. 10 points less for mum. However the bacon here is soooo much better. So that’s a good thing.
After a while, we went to see my aunt, who is heading off on a cruise soon. So I had one day to fit her into our hectic schedules before she vanished in a puff of blue smoke. She lives in Goring-on-sea which is about 20 minutes from mum. She has a nice place which is about 200 yards from the sea.
We went for a walk along the coast, my aunt, my mum and I. There were giant kites in the air. Turns out they are attached to surfboards which people use here as its so windy. The beach consists of pebbles and little white huts. It was cold. We walked several miles down the beach and back, stopping only for a cup of tea at the “Sea Lane Cafe” – apparently, its very famous. You know, in Sussex. Hopefully for something that does not violate health codes.
After that fun, we went back and got a visit from my crazy cousin Fiona and her family. She is awesome. Kind of like me only female. Probably less annoying than I am. I really should ask her husband… 🙂
Then we went to a Sainsbury’s which is a large supermarket where 80% of the items are made by Sainsbury’s. It was great fun, and I got black pudding. Yay! Plus twiglets. Oh and scotch eggs. But I had to leave room for the slow cooked lamb casserole from yesterday.

Love the parking lot. Gravestones are nice too!
