This is the
underground travel cylinder used by hostile underwater
aliens to gain access to Marineville in 'The Invaders'.
This direct ancestor of the Thunderbirds Jet Mole was
made from a turned wooden dowel with screw detail made
from thin sheet metal. The underground travel cylinder
was probably mounted on top of an electric drill bit and
pushed into the styrofoam set floor from below by an
off-camera technician.
