Atomic Bomb |
|
Here is the atomic
bomb featured in 'Big Ben Chimes Again'. The same model
was also used as a small nuclear reactor in 'Expo 2068'. This model appears to have been made from a number of plastic shapes, metal wire, and various plastic kit parts. |
Base Concord Missiles |
|
---|---|
Here are a group
of missiles at Base Concord as seen in 'Renegade Rocket'. These missiles appear to have been from the old Monogram US Space Missiles display kit. The leftmost missile appears to be a Regulus or Bomarc missile. |
Airport Scene |
|
---|---|
Take a good look at the level of detail incorporated in this typical Captain Scarlet airport scene. There are 1/25th scale kit based cars in the foreground, various model aircraft in the background (note the Monogram or Revell SST), and the wood and artist's board buildings in the front of the painted sky backdrop. |
Maxwell Airbase |
|
---|---|
Take a good look at some of the things in this Maxwell Airbase scene. The blue building behind the Spectrum Passenger Jet was the Glenn Field Zero-X control center from Thunderbirds Are Go. The jets parked on the right are Lockheed F-102 'Delta Dart' kit based aircraft which were also featured in Thunderbirds Are Go. |
Secret Trailer |

Hidden SPV Revealed! |
|
This house
trailer, as seen in 'Winged Assassin', is not what it
seems to be. When Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue show
their Spectrum identification cards to a homeowner
(actually a Spectrum secret agent), he presses a button
to reveal a hidden SPV! This model was built out of wood for the most part, with clear acetate windows and wheels from some kind of toy. The scale of the SPV seems to be at odds with the trailer! |
Monotrain |
|
Here is the
monorail train that was featured in 'Model Spy'. The model monotrain cars had wooden roofs, wooden bottoms, wooden ends and sides made from artist's board. The artist's board had cut-out windows that were filled with transparent acetate sheet. |
Unitron |
|
The 'Point 783'
Unitron, seen here, is a cybernetic computer controlled
tank. The Unitron was based upon the Remco 'Tiger Joe' battery operated toy tank. This toy was a favorite of the Anderson model makers. Among other things, 'Tiger Joe' toys were used to make the tracked refinery portion of the Crablogger vehicle featured in the Thunderbirds episode 'Path of Destruction'. The Unitron was later reused in at least one episode of Joe 90. |
Variable Geometry Rocket |
|
---|---|
The Variable
Geometry Rocket seen here was featured in 'Renegade
Rocket'. This was another simple wooden model. It's only real complicated feature was the movable wings. The model was liberally detailed with automotive striping tape. |
