A puppet, meticulously recreated by the original sculptor, TERRY CURTIS who sculpted for Century 21 1964-1970.
Paul Travers was based on the actor Sean Connery who, at the time, was 007 - James Bond.
Each head has been moulded from the original and all body parts from a Jeff Tracy stage 1 body as used in the film. (All original parts still in Terry's possession). Flexible hands, acrylic eyes, eye and mouth mechanisms have all be reproduced as they were 35 years ago - ever real false teeth have been used as per the original puppet. Paul Travers was the only Thunderbirds puppet to have real hair - and so do these!
Hundreds of hours of work and experimentation has ensured that the copies are as true to the original as possible. Every aspect of the puppets has been recreated by Terry himself, aprt from the jumpers and suits, but he has overseen their production to ensure every attention to detail.
Costumes were extensively researched, (style, buttons, buckles, braiding, badges, etc.) - Pittards leather has again been used in the shoe making, and unigorm style has been followed to the letter, but using a polyester mix material directly supplied by a Yorkshire mill as the old material now no longer available. Jumpers are machine knitted in lambswool, in the same orange colour.
Each copy is to be microchipped and with a Certificate of Authenticy from Terry.
